The Journal of Davutus offers a glimpse into the inner world of this extraordinary musician. It allows us to read his thoughts and anecdotes about past adventures and the people that he has encountered. Announcements of future events and information concerning new releases are also found here.
After a long and strenuous journey through the forests near Cranshar, we made camp and spoke quietly of our adventures while drowsing by the fire. A simple supper was enjoyed before drifting off to sleep, while the frogs and crickets chirped away in their hiding places. The murmuring stream nearby invited a wonderful mix of night sounds around us and all was right with the world. Early the next morning, I awoke to the sight of a dappled deer at the edge our camp. He looked as though he would say something terribly important, but then slowly turned and walked away. The early morning mist was swirling lazily through the trees branches overhead and so I awakened Basio and Zyndal. We walked to the edge of the ravine and looked with astonishment at the glory of a morning in the land of Barsenius. The sight of the tendrils of mist floating through the valley below was truly mesmerizing. The green valley of Bresfarth was spread before us, like a polished emerald, while in the distance, the snow-capped "Three Sisters" sparkled on the horizon. The sky above was painted with streaks of gold and crimson as the morning sun rose in the crisp autumn air. To the right, Lake Karthen lay before us was like a glittering diamond in the valley. Miles to the left was the fairy-tale castle of King Marus and his lovely wife, Queen Candare. That beautiful sight has stayed with me in my memory over these many months, and this musical track is my homage to that early, misty morning.....Davutus
Friday, October 12, 2012 - 11:23Several years ago, while returning from a trip to China, Zyndal suggested that we stop on the enchanting island of Taiwan. He had visited the Taroka National Park there and had never forgotten it. The sheer marble cliffs of Taroko Gorge, the Tunnel of Nine Turns, the Eternal Spring Shrine, all gave me bountiful musical ideas. We were thrilled to have seen such beauty! I added my melodic ideas to my notebook and when I arrived back home, set about to put those memories into music. This track is the result...Davutus

Friday, October 5, 2012 - 13:53Following his lead, we made our way up the stairway as quietly as possible. On the third floor, we found the Princess in her room, staring hopelessly out of the latticed window. The sad look on her face was heartbreaking to see. This piece of music is my attempt to show her mood as we arrived. "From Her Castle Window" is scheduled to be released in mid October.............Davutus
Monday, September 24, 2012 - 18:44When Zyndal and I finally arrived at the castle, we were summarily turned away by the guards. Although we had been accorded special privileges by the king, that did not extend to an opportunity to see the Princess Laranee. After her failed attempt to flee the domain of her father, she had been forbidden to see anyone, including us. But, she had asked for our help at the banquet, and we were determined to do what we could. Basio, dressed as one of the guards, had found another way into the tower through an unused storage room.

Sunday, September 9, 2012 - 21:03It's been almost a week since we returned from our trek through some pretty rough terrain in the remote deserts of North Africa. We found the remains of ancient cities and followed the footsteps of long-ago. In the evening, we would sit in the silence, watching shimmering moonlight bathe the ancient stones, while from the desert you would swear that the voices of a multitude could be heard in the wind. Great inspiration for music!........Davutus
