The Magic of the Dance
Following the victory of Prince Chaldres and Duke Angrela over the Mitanites at Scandaren, we made our way to the castle gates to begin our journey home. We were stopped in our tracks by one of the guards who asked us to return to the palace.
Who were we to refuse, and so accompanied by several of the king's retinue, we were promptly escorted to the throne room of King Pelinor. Being properly apprehensive as to why the king should have sent out a contingent of the guards for us, we nevertheless put on a brave front, but after seeing the king's smiling face, our concern melted away.
Our guard had neglected to tell us that a feast was being prepared and we were to take part in the celebration! Music would be a great part of it and would it be possible for me to play some music for the banquet to come? Of course, it would be my pleasure and so that evening, off to the victory celebration we went.
Upon our arrival, we beheld the entire court, dressed in their finest with the king and queen on their thrones elevated above the company while the musicians played a courtly dance. The evening was a brilliant success with the highlight being the enchanting dance of Princess Sommerage and Duke Angrela.
As soon as I returned home, I went directly to my studio to recreate the magic of that final evening. I hope you too will find wonder and delight in the Magic of the Dance.........Davutus
